Each Tiuku Watch features a laser engraved caseback. After engraving, the caseback goes through passivation in an acid bath. This chemical treatment removes free iron and other contaminants from the stainless steel surface, which lets a protective chromium-oxide layer form. Because this layer repairs itself, the steel stays resistant to corrosion over time. To achieve a clean, polished look, the caeback is carefully cleaned after the process. The laser engraving and cleaning takes together aprox. two hours.
